The Rensow Manor House and the Old School whisk our guests away into a wonderful, sometimes slightly quirky little fairy-tale world — a world from bygone times, attentive and full of playful details.

Gutshaus Rensow can welcome up to 21 guests, comfortably accommodated in four charming holiday apartments and three cozy double rooms. The double rooms are available for group bookings, complementing the apartments perfectly. Each apartment boasts its own unique character, elegantly furnished and lovingly decorated with countless thoughtful details. Guests are invited to wander freely through the former English-style park—now delightfully wild—with its centuries-old trees, inviting seating areas, lounging spots, and barbecue corners. A place to relax, explore, and simply be.
Just 300 meters from our Gutshaus, nestled in the village, lies the Alte Schule. It features two holiday apartments and a cozy double room, comfortably accommodating 10 guests (up to 12 in summer). Inspired by the Wabi-Sabi philosophy, the Alte Schule celebrates the quiet beauty of simplicity and imperfection. Warmed exclusively by stoves and furnished in a charmingly rustic style, it exudes a welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere. Guests can enjoy their own private garden, complete with a delightfully simple sauna, reserved solely for those staying at the Alte Schule—a serene retreat where time slows and every detail tells a story.
We rent throughout the year with a minimum stay of two nights, and in summer we kindly suggest a minimum of three nights. For long weekends (holidays, etc.), we ask that inquiries cover the entire period. Bookings for groups and corporate retreats are warmly welcomed. Catering requests for groups can be arranged individually, and we are happy to provide tailored offers upon request.
The Gutshaus is now also heated exclusively by stoves. We provide plenty of ready-to-use firewood - and don’t worry, during the colder months, we preheat the holiday apartments before your arrival.
We ourselves, a German-Danish couple, have been living here in rural Mecklenburg since 2005 – and since 2008
together with our three children, under the roof of the Gutshaus.

Manor House: The Library
he Library is an exclusive retreat for two, where timeless elegance meets cozy comfort. The spacious living room features a striking Empire-style library, thoughtfully integrated with a small tea kitchen. Heated solely by charming wood-burning stoves, the apartment radiates warmth and intimacy. From the rich mahogany bedroom, guests step into a refined bathroom with a luxurious shower—a perfect hideaway for quiet moments and gentle relaxation.
Manor House: The Apothecary
The former Gutshaus Apothecary is a warm and inviting apartment for 2 to 4 guests. At its heart lies the spacious living kitchen, adorned with charming exposed timber walls and a cozy wood-burning stove. Two comfortable bedrooms and a well-appointed bathroom with a shower complete the space. With its own private entrance from the outside, this apartment offers a sense of independence and a peaceful retreat, perfect for relaxing and savoring the quiet beauty of the surroundings.
Manor House: The Schoolroom
The former schoolroom of the Gutshaus is a spacious and welcoming apartment for 2 to 4 guests. It features two cozy bedrooms, a large kitchen with a comfortable dining area, and a generous living room warmed by a wood-burning stove. The bathroom, with its elegant cast-iron bathtub, invites long, relaxing soaks. With its blend of historic charm and modern comfort, The Schoolroom is the perfect retreat for unwinding and enjoying the quiet beauty of the Gutshaus.
Manor House: The Madonna Room
The Madonna Room, once the private chamber of the lady of the house, is our largest and most elegant apartment, comfortably accommodating 2 to 5 guests. It features two bedrooms, with the main bedroom leading to a bathroom with a shower. The living room includes a quaint tea kitchen, and the space is warmed entirely by charming wood-burning stoves. With its blend of historic character and cozy comfort, the Madonna Room offers a serene and welcoming retreat for families or small groups.
Manor House Rensow
The Gutshaus warmly welcomes group bookings and (corporate) retreats, offering a peaceful self-catering stay with a minimum of 2 nights. Catering requests for groups can be arranged individually, allowing every visit to be tailored to your needs. Whether for work, celebration, or simply gathering with friends, the Gutshaus provides a serene and inspiring setting for shared experiences.As a special highlight for group bookings, Knut and Christina invite you to a “Private Dinner” in the Gutshaus kitchen. Together, they create something truly extraordinary—fully adaptable to vegan or vegetarian preferences—and the meal is shared around the table, bringing everyone together. Through this intimate experience, they welcome you into the heart of the special place they have lovingly built here in Rensow over the past 20 years. If you wish, they are happy to share charming stories and personal anecdotes from their Gutshaus life. And of course, Knut will serve exceptional wines, because life, in his eyes, is far too short for anything less.

Old School: WabiSabi 1
This apartment, originally built for the teacher, offers a charming retreat for guests seeking a cozy and unique space. It features one bedroom, an additional sleeping loft under the roof—available only in summer—a comfortable living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. With its quiet, historic character, this apartment invites relaxation and a true escape into the gentle rhythm of life at the Manor House.The sleeping loft under the roof is reached by a charmingly steep staircase. Warmed by its own stove, it offers a cozy hideaway, though the roof is not fully insulated, giving it a rustic, authentic character that adds to the unique charm of this apartment.
Old School: WabiSabi 2
This apartment features three bedrooms—two of which once served as classrooms—blending history with modern comfort. In addition, there is a welcoming living room, a cozy kitchen-living area, and a bathroom with a shower. The space invites guests to relax and enjoy the unique character and gentle rhythm of life at the Manor House.
Old School

Guests are also welcome to wander freely through the nearby Gutshaus’s wild park, with its centuries-old trees, inviting seating and lounging spots, and charming barbecue areas—a perfect place to relax, breathe, and soak in the timeless beauty of the surroundings.

A baroque house nestled in the Mecklenburg countryside
The house is embraced by a former English-style park, now wonderfully wild, with centuries-old trees, shy deer, vibrant peacocks, serenading frogs, a nightingale—known locally as “Sprosser”—and curious foxes.
Inside the Manor House, rooms are filled with antique furniture, candleholders, and old stoves, alongside thoughtfully placed complementary pieces of porcelain, metal, or glass and shelves full of books.
The residents are international—a German-Danish couple—warm-hearted, open, and family-oriented, with a playful sense of humor, self-irony, and perhaps a charming touch of eccentricity.
