History

Venerable age

The ‘Gurten estate’ appears to be of a venerable age.
Various authors mostly agree that the old eastern wall, where the estate's barn was located, is a remnant of an old chapel dedicated to "Saint Catherine." This chapel is already mentioned in a document from 1327.

The Gurten estate was probably referred to as "domus s. Katerina" in Latin documents.
Raimund Blasinger, who wrote his dissertation on the history of farms in Tisens, came across the Gurten estate around the year 1618. At that time, Erhardt Kurz sold a dwelling, called the "Gurtisch Behaisung," to Christian Giggenhirner, the parish priest of Tisens.
After the death of Christian Giggenhirner in 1646, his son Karl Giggenhirner took over the "Gurtische Behausung".

Around the year 1692, Count of Frankenberg owned the Gurten estate.
In 1692, the Count of Frankenberg sold the "Gurtsche Behaisung" to Jakob Knoll. This marked the beginning of the ownership succession at the Gurtenhof:

Jakob Knoll ( + 1708)

Johann Knoll (+1758)

Johann Knoll (son)

Josef Knoll (+1829)

Johann Knoll (son)

Alois Partolli
On January 22, 1884, Josef Knoll sold the Gurtenhof to Alois Partolli, the cooperator of Tisens.

Josef Lochmann and Christine Nelböck
bought it in 1900

In 1927, Christine Lochmann, née Nelböck, handed over the Gurtenhof
to her daughter Maria and her fiancé, Alois Knoll.

1964 Richard Knoll (son of Alois Knoll) acquires their share of the farm

since 1996, Erich Knoll has been the owner of the Gurtenhof.
