    Overview

Celebrations in the castle garden and barn

According to surveys in Europe and the United States, pink is the colour most often associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, femininity and romance. The golden age of the colour pink was certainly the Rococo period (1720-1777) in the 18th century, when pastel colours became fashionable at all the courts of Europe.

And pink is the enchanting rococo castle of Assumstadt, which is located in southern Germany in a quiet and wildly romantic area in the Jagst valley near the city of Heilbronn.

Let yourself be enchanted and use this location for your meetings, conferences and corporate events. The romantic castle and the historic facades are also ideal for film sets.

The castle offers you perfect conditions for a special celebration:

    Barn loft (160 - 300 people)

    Marschstall (160 - 300 people)

    Festival barn (180 - 400 people)

or idyllic castle park (approx. 5.5 ha)

    - we have the perfect atmosphere for your event. Celebrate your wedding, birthdays, anniversaries and family celebrations at Assumstadt Castle!

The owner's family will be happy to provide advice and guidance on the choice of caterer, technical equipment or choice of activities: e.g. archery, visit to the game reserve, music, ....

    History

    On behalf of the Empress

The rococo Assumstadt Palace was built by order of Empress Maria Theresia in 1769-1771. The school of Fischer von Erlach and the Prague architect Paul Wiedhopf set typical architectural features of the time here and it is reminiscent in many details of the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna. Doors, stoves, windows and floors are partly copies from Vienna that were made in Prague.

The castle is surrounded by a large park in which the Assumstadt church, demolished in 1799, used to be located in the open space in front of the palace.

The building of the castle was a gift from the Austrian Empress Maria Theresia to her loyal general sergeant-at-arms Karl Reinhard von Ellrichshausen, whose family had held the local lordship in Assumstadt since 1667. The castle was sold by Ellrichshausen's descendants to Hubert Graf zu Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee in 1937.

Assumstadt Castle is now run by the 3rd generation Hubertus Graf von Waldburg zu Wolfegg und Waldsee.
